Can you make a silk purse out of a sow's ear?

Take eight ladettes and turn them into ladies in a few short weeks. An interesting look at two extremes of society.

She was annoying me intensely last night, so self-righteous, I felt quite sorry for the ladettes!

Louise is the scouse one. Apparently she lasted only three weeks as an air-hostess and must have made quite an impression in that time because it was her former boss who put her forward for the programme.

I was really impressed by how well she behaved, she was superb. I had been expecting her to be swigging it down by the gallon in the wine cellar or pouring it over Gill Harbord's head - or both!  Clap

Maybe they should try doing a related programme about Lords to Members of the Human Race?

Good articles dmk.

Worth putting up with the steep runs at Verbier to meet the ladettes.

As this is all prerecorded, do we know who has won?  because if we don't surely it should be clara  - the others have no grace at all  sorry and at least two of them have been topless in the sunday papers

vote clara  and if not her, then vicky  - she may be overweight sorry and get drunk  sorry but she is better than the other 3 who are total chavs, sorry ladettes

I agree, so far Clara is definitely the front runner, but from the start she has been different from the others and not really a proper ladette in the sense of the boozy sex-mad chav behaviour of the others.  With her it seems more a case of circumstance rather than choice that she has become "one of the lads" but that still doesn't make her a true ladette.

It was so funny when they went shopping in Verbier and Fran and Vicky just stood there open-mouthed in amazement when Clara started spouting fluent German!

She comes across as quite quick-thinking and somehow they got away with the substitute cake because of her, and I think the vegetarian omelettes were her idea too.

Hi everyone

I've been watching this series from the beginning (and also saw series 1).

It's been fascinating to watch the ladettes' progress (or lack thereof) over the last four weeks.  I think my favourite ladette really since the start has been Clara.  Though I agree that she's not exactly a true ladette like the others (being rude, getting drunk etc) - more that she just lacks female influences/friends/work colleagues, so she behaves in a masculine way.  Other than that, she seeme to be bright, she had a good job, she's bi-lingual (the scene in the Swiss supermarket was a classic!  ) and, she's pretty!  I'd like to see her win, but I suspect that it might go to one of the other two - who really were 'rough' to start out with, but have made some real progress.

Vickie seems to have come on really well and I've definitely warmed to her!

I'm glad those two (and Fran) are in the final.  Of the five left at the end of week 3/beginning of week 4, they were the three I most wanted to see in the final!

I thought Louise was awful!  Ironically, she was a pretty girl, yet her temper was just plain nasty - and I'd suggest that she has a real problem with alcohol!  Even the other ladettes (in last night's ep) knew she was drinking so much.  Knowing how alcohol affects her and knowing she can't control her consumption, I honestly think she should stop drinking altogether!  She's just an accident waiting to happen!

BTW - I know last year's winner and runner-up were featured briefly in (I think) the opening ep, when they visited this year's 'students', but it would have been nice to have had an update on how they're doing and whether they think their Eggleston Hall experience has benifited them out in the 'real' world!  I loved Michelle from series 1 (she was the runner up - the tall girl with dark curly hair, who worked as a plumber).  I would have liked her to win, but I think she was just happy to have made the final and to have benefitted from the experience.  And I loved what she said to this year's ladettes about respecting yourself etc.  What a star! Clap
