Hi, I am Tinklefairydust, but you can call me Tinkle or TFD for short!

Found this  wonderful forum after last year's final when Rhydian didn't win!! and have been here ever since.. Haven't posted as much recently as have moved house which seems to have taken most of the summer!

Looking forward to this years X factor series as well. Clap

Howdy; I'm Bev (same first name as Doodles!!) and I've been a frequent visitor for the Lycos X Factor boards in the past two years.  But since the forum structure has completely changed this year, I've had to resort to somewhere else to make my discussions and so forth.

So yeah, I've been watching the show since the Battle of the Stars segment (Chris Moyles should have won), researched a lot on the prior two seasons, took in the third and fourth in my stride, and I'm ready to see what the fifth one would bring.  Ideally, the fifth season would already be better than the fourth because even a screaming cat can beat Leon Jackson in a singing contest. Wink

I've pledged a lot of support in Ben Mills and Rhydian Roberts in the past two series, if anyone wants to know.  Vocal power above all!

...and that's probably about it

Yes Rexy - I used to post last year, don't like the new format at all - doesn't encourage "discussion"

Anyhoo -  hi all I'm Pitchperfect, Pitch or PP  - this forum is the best and everyone here is fab  group hug

I'm Bkacflip you can call me BK or Flip for short if you like. Unlike quicksilver i didn't get hooked on Rhydian last series to say the leader, instead I've been a fan of the show for a few years now and enjoy discussing the show with nearly anyone and usually drone the ears off of my friends when the subject comes up.

I'm still holding out for that Rocker we deserve after four series of the show, so fingers crossed we'll get a rock winner soon but until then I'll settle for any winner who's fun and has good vocals. Which is probably why i end up supporting the acts who leave at around the 6th live shows. Either way the rollercoaster ride draws me in every year and it wouldn't feel like Christmas at the end if i wasn't sitting watching the final.

Bring on the talent

We don't seem to get many rockers auditioning (Ben wasn't really a rocker, I think he prefers funk music).

Unfortunately I think the themed weeks will put rockers off...thinking they might have to sing Manilow, Abba, Big Band or disco

I thought Ben was more catered for the blues in spite of his rock-based appearance, but that's probably just me.

Either way, a rocker having issues with themed weeks is no different than the judges' concerns with operatic specializts last year, and you saw how Rhydian pulled everything off, didn't he?

It all comes down to how one decides to tackle the themes.  Unless they are confined to a specific genre, then no one should really have any problems Smiley
