http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/article2375255.eceVIRGIN Susan Boyle’s BGT audition has been viewed 1.3MILLION times on YouTube — and now she’s getting offers from America.
Simon Cowell will give her a record deal whether she wins the show or not. Who will be buying her début album?

I might buy it. I thought she sounded fabulous. I would love to see her get a make-over like Paul Potts did. A little bit of work and she could actually be quite attractive.

Totally agree, Elphaba, in fact I was just saying to someone today that her hair looked awful, and if she simply had a make-over she could look like a star. There are lots of 'celebrities' who look glamorous but remove the hair and makeup treatment and they look pretty ordinary at best. I loved Susan's personality, she gave up her life to care for her mother yet she's retained such a great sense of humour and spirit. I hope Mr Right comes along for her as well, what a story that would be if she could win BGT and is swept off her feet!

Totally agree... a new hair style, a bit of work on those eyebrows and some makeup and I think you'd struggle to recognise her...
I'm not surprised the offers have started to be mentioned - If she doesn't win someone will snap her up - We know the singers/musicians will always make money - win or loose - look at eScala, Andrew Johnston and Faryle

I honestly don't get the hysteria about Susan. Her voice is good, but certainly not 'sending youtube into melt-down' worthy, as far as I can see (or hear). Let's not forget that the hysteria is based on one performance - and future performances won't have the 'surprise' element that the original one had.

The surprise might come with the transformation from ugly duckling into swan, once the stylists get hold of her, and of course, her song choice. One thing I will say surprised me, for a very shy lady from a small village in Scotland, she showed absolutely no sign of any nerves at all, and I don't think singing in front of the Queen would phase her one iota. I know its not just the UK that have gone Boyle crazy, I also post on a forum in the States, and people over there are asking me about her...

I think it is actually, I thought her voice had a truly wonderful clarity of tone. I didn't see the show but have seen - and, more importantly, heard - the Youtube clips and I can honestly say that I will be one of the first in the queue when her album is released.

I thought her voice had a truly wonderful clarity of tone I agree. If you listen to her without watching, her voice is absolutely amazing, watching her actually distracts from how good it is. With a voice like that I think she can go through the competition with songs from musicals and amaze us all each time. Good luck to her.

I agree to an extent... I am, not quite sure how I can get my mind around 5 million plus votes, she has a wonderful voice and I am just wondering how many of these people viewing YouTube are doing it out of some wierd kind of thing, as the press have not been overly kind about the way she looks.

Tinkle, its up to 6.7 mil now, there are comments there from the US, Sweden, all over. I've had people from the US on another forum asking me what she's singing next, I kinda suggested maybe Memory from Cats. There is a clip of Elaine Paige singing Memory on you tube , and every comment says 'copy and paste if Susan Boyle bought you here'...

I am not saying that she doesn't have a good voice... because yes she does...but I just dont, like johartuk quite get the hysteria over the voice..I still think a lot of the interest is how that people think that someone who looked like they would be awful would be as good as she was.. I think its the unlikely factor that has piqued peoples interest.. I am sorry but I really don't get it. Faryl Smith for me, was for her young age so much more of a pleasant surprise when she sang.

well to be fair Tinkle, you can't really put them alongside one another, one is a classical soprano, and one is a musical theatre type singer. Its like comparing Leon to Pavarotti I think the surprising element with Susan is the same as it was with Paul Potts, when both those people walked on stage for their audition, you just didn't expect those voices to come out. The look on Simon and Pier's faces when she said she aspired to be like Elaine Paige said it all "yeah, course you do love'... Personally, I would like to see Flawless win, as I think they are totally mesmerising, but whatever happens, Susan's future is assured.

Mail'I won't let Simon Cowell give her a Hollywood makeover,' vows Amanda Holden http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/apr/17/susan-boyle-ophrah-winfrey-larry-kingBoyle is expected to appear on Larry King Live, the veteran interviewer's CNN show, and the queen of US daytime TV's programme, Oprah, after a week during which the internet has made the unemployed Scottish singer's rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables on the ITV1 show last Saturday a worldwide phenonmenon.
King is due to interview Boyle on his programme tomorrow morning, UK time, while Winfrey has also agreed to interview the 47-year-old, adding to her round of US network TV breakfast show gigs with the likes of NBC and CBS earlier in the week. Interest from America shows no signs of abating. Boyle has already done 60 interviews with media outlets around the world. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/mediamonkeyblog/2009/apr/17/susan-boyle-cry-me-a-riverOld recording uncovered.

There is a clip of Elaine Paige singing Memory on you tube Elaine Paige didn't gain her reputation through her looks either: she's (with respect) quite an ordinary looking person.
