I dont think United Kingdom will get any points this year. Do you think if Leona Lewis or Celine Dion sang for United Kingdom that United Kingdom might get some real points for a change?

Isn't Celine Canadian?
I'm sure if Leona Lewis sung she would get us at least one point. I think we'll do bad again this year, but it'll be a good performance for us

Yes she is Canadian but in the late 1980s she represented Switzerland in Eurovision.

Well if ALW has managed to rig the voting like he did with the Your Country needs you show then she may get a few but with such an awful song and awful singer I doubt we'll make it into the top half of the leader board.

If Jade could sing the song without trying to force it by shouting which makes her wobble about off key a lot of the time, then it could stand a chance of getting a few points. She does the song no justice and it would have been better if one of the other finalists were singing it. If Jade by any chance reads this, please stop shouting....listen back to your recordings of it and you will hear that it makes it sound awful. I wont be watching the show as I have my daughters performance of Lily in the musical A Man Of No Importance and the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts to go and see that night....

Isn't there a new "Jury Vote" or something i've read about on YouTube this year. ie. Impartial judges voting on SONGS not who they're next to. if so, I think we stand a good chance of not coming bottom at least.

I believe it's 50:50 of jury votes and public phone votes.

Well if ALW has managed to rig the voting like he did with the Your Country needs you .
every time I say that,. people say "oh no how could it of been rigged" so I`m glad I`m not the only one who saw through the blatant inclusion of a ringer after all the others had been selected and the mega bandwagon pf her as the winner by ever guest every week the saving of her in the last but one week and the ramping of her during the final ..... "takes breath" Hilariously the BBC are plugging the show and using the bad vocal version she did on winning the show .. it sounds terrible ... I think they think it shows emotion and sincerity where as I just keep thinking Gemini when I hear it.

nil points to UK ..... we stopped sending our best artists to give other countries a better chance of winning
It would be interesting to send someone like Robbie Williams with an amazing song and see what happens. If our score was still "nil points" then we would know for sure its a fix.

It would be interesting to send someone like Robbie Williams with an amazing song and see what happens. That would be interesting, wouldn't it? Years ago we used to have top artists representing the UK, no reason why we couldn't revert to that. Having said that, it was quite a while before the UK did win, although we did come second a few times. Nothing to stop us hiring a foreign mercenary either in fact, last UK winner (Katrina and the Waves) - Katrina was American or Canadian, if memory serves.

And all ready established - Maybe we should send a BIG BIG name next year e.g. Elton John, Tom Jones, Paul McCartney.... and if we still come bottom - Pull out because that would prove we stand no chance of ever winning. I think some acts would be worried about damaging their reputations if they didn't win but people like thos named above don't really need to worry about that. Back to tonight - I've Just got up But I'm sure I didn't dream this - I'm sure I heard on the six o'clock news last night that the UK was now Joint 4th Favourite that must be after Iceland, Malta, Norway, Greece, Denmark, Portugal are 1st Favs and 15 of the other countries are joint 2nd and 3rd.... That can't be right maybe I didn't hear them say "...to get nil point!"

Joint 3rd actually. After Norway (4/5) and Greece (11/2) - Joint with Azerbaijan and Turkey on 12/1. According to Ladbrokes, anyway...
