The former nurse claims that her performance suffered as a result of cervical spine neuritis, which can cause head and shoulder pain and which affects her ability to hear her own singing voice in noisy environments such as the audition arena.

After reading the article I am speechless and that doesn't often happen.

Czikai said she was lodging her claim under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995

Yes, an act which says you cannot be discriminated against for a job which you are qualified and capable of doing due to your disability.

If you can't sing, then you're not going to get put through in a singing competition. What, are they supposed to just hope you'll be better in the next round? Or on the night of the Royal Variety?

If she (somehow) wins that case it'll open the floodgates for a massive number of complaints from previous auditionees!

I do remember hearing her sing the second time (i think in more talent live, or something, i forget exactly) and although it's not my type of music, she did sound much better than the audition.

As can be said for many acts where the audition goes bad, and u see them again in more talent with an improvement in quality.

It is up to the auditionee to make SURE they are able to perform properly before going on stage, if they feel the quality of their performance wil be effected due to feeling sick, having an illness, or injury from a recent accident or whatever, they must make sure this is sorted BEFORE giving their performance, otherwise they should postpone this until they are well enough to perform adequately.

It's not me taking sides with anybody, its basic common sense.  Some people just dont understand this.
