Phil Collins would do a better job because he's music appeals more to an international market.

Well I have heard it....& IMO a chimpanzee would have made a better job as well!....it is dire!.....even by the usually dubious standards of Eurovision!

I looked up Waterman's recent work because I couldn't think of any recent hits and the fact that the contestants only sang songs from way back sort of confirmed to me that he hasn't really been writing any (hit)songs lately. Actualy when you look at his official website you can see that he's kept on producing and remixing but never really wrote any hits any more after SAW split. I guess his songwriting muscle could have done with some training before he penned this Eurovision song...
